According to the guidelines set forth by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS). Poor ergonomics can also lead to carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), a painful condition characterized by a pinched nerve in the wrist. While a number of different factors contribute to CTS, the most common is a repetitive motion injury. One can also get tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) from constant repetitive motion. Swelling in the wrist compresses the median nerve, which triggers a radiating and numbing pain sensation. If you suffer from CTS pain, continuing to type without seeking treatment will only further aggravate this pain.
